always having the same thoughts when things go wrong, when i can hardly breathe, when i just needed to get away from this place, from everyone.

i want to walk right into the salon and say "please cut it SHORT".
my hair is so long and thick i had no idea how to style it.
why am i not cutting my hair?

i want to travel, alone. hmm,to china maybe?
I kind of miss that place. Everything is so simple and easy over there. KFC egg tarts + coffee = heaven.

Finally i will be going for a trial Hot Yoga lesson, probably next week. Been wanting to try it soo long ago..this shall be my new obsession and goal. Detox, Tone up, Improve my posture and hopefully it will somehow cure my neck problem. Yays!so looking forward to it!

2009 is ending real fast. And i will be turning 24 in a month's time! tsk tsk, time flies.

I haven't been blogging that much. Sometimes, the words already flooded my head but when I start to type, I just can't do it. I always give excuses like busy with stuffs and all...tired after work...but I know it's just that I don't have the guts to let everyone know my inner thoughts.

Too many issues been troubling me recently and I can say that I've been rather moody these past 2 weeks. I can only blame it on myself, thinking too much of unnecessary stuff. I seem to have lost interest in whatever I do. I wake up every morning only to find myself dragging my feet to the bathroom. At work, I'm seriously getting sick of doing technical drawings and preparing the damn order sheets in CHINESE. Though I've improved for the past few months, I really hated doing it.

I don't see myself going far in this job so I thought of continuing my studies, not in fashion of course. But this means I need alot alot of money to study. My parents can help out but they already paid for my previous degree. And if I were to study again, it means working doubly hard. This is confusing. I can neither do this, nor that. Sighs. Maybe I'm just not motivated to do anything. I used to, now not anymore.

Life has been very uninteresting. It's either work or home. Perhaps I should keep a pet. A small hammy or a little bunnie.

I'm not sure if the surprise I've been planning for so long will work out in the end. I hope it does.

It's a good way to forget all the unhappy things. =)

Don't worry, be happy. Easier said than done but i'll try.

Seriously, i'm getting sick of singapore. Yes i'm referring to my country, my homeland..the place where i grew up. It's so small and i'm kinda getting bored going to the same places everytime. I'm also tired of going to Orchard road, so crowded it gives me headaches. I will only go there now if I really need to buy something and when i'm done with it I make my way home.

I really miss shopping in China. The things are SOOO cheap and nice and more importantly, i get to bargain! Oh and not forgetting hong kong. I'm planning to go back next year during their summer sale and shop till i DROP! =)

i'm a little fish~i bite!

Last sunday before going to Qianhu fish farm, we washed car (little red dot) together. Being the helpful and pro navigator, we managed to get to the fish farm with no problems.HAHA. We walked around and looked at the different species of fishes. Some looked funny, some looked good and some looked ridiculous.ahaa like the goldfish with the oversized bump on the forehead!!

Then we came to the fish spa corner. It was super crowded. The fishes are so-called to nibble off the dead skin on ur feet. And so we paid $10 each for half an hour of fish biting our feet.haha. We sat around this huge pool and waited for the fishes to come. And very soon, honey's feet got surrounded by sooooo many fishes! i don't have!!

It's quite fun but it feels quite ticklish and many times we laughed out so loud that we accidentally invited quite a few stares. The bigger fishes are really powerful! it's like they are really bitting off the skin.Not pain at all! =) we stayed for 1 hr! worth it!!haha

在新的公司上班，不知不觉也有一个多月了。。

很多人都问我一样的问题。。“ 喜欢这份工作吗？”，我总是笑着回答说 “还好啦。。”
其实我并不是很喜欢这份工作，因为它跟服装设计差很多。。虽然是 Fashion Merchandising, 可是有时候我在想。。我到底该继续吗？Degree in Fashion 有什么用？以为工资会高一点。。却是相反。

今天有点儿闷，可能是天气的关系吧。。

一整天在改订单。。脑海里只想赶紧把它做完，没时间想别的。中午只吃了半碗粥，没什么胃口。。。头好痛，好晕。。好累。。

4点过后就没事做了。。只好在座位发呆。。看了手机好几次。。没有message.

6点半，放工了。。又这样过了一天。。好想周末快点到来。。

回到家，也觉得闷。。天啊。。我怎么了？

希望明天心情会比今天来得好。。。

the "surprise"

ok so here's the story:

as usual, whole day i was slacking at work and I kept thinking of the surprise i'm going to give you later hehe. And trying to imagine what will ur expression be like when u see the gift that i got for u - something that u really need: a very nice braun buffel wallet. whee~

I lied to you about going to town on thursday night cos' my colleague needed to get something but in fact I rushed down to town for your wallet. =) I had always wanted to get it for u but u said u have got vouchers. And i was thinking it doesn't have to be any special occasion to buy something for you...I hope the wallet can cheer u up =)

So, the time has come. I was busy swopping your cards and all into the NEW wallet while you waited outside, in the dark. And when I finally dragged you in, you were like WTH when i said " ok let's play a game! spot the difference!" After a very long search you still didn't see the new wallet even though its right in front of you!

" EH! it's so near you la!! how come you cannot see!"

"what!! where got!! i dun see anything different!!"

"ARGH!! it's...its there!"

*finally! you picked up the new wallet, paused for a moment, turned and looked at me with your very surprised look. You were all smiles and I was laughing non-stop!

So i guessed my plan did worked.haha.

"why did you buy it!? I told you i got the vouchers mah.."

"But i just wanted to get it for u.."

I don't have the habit of blogging everyday..i'm just not that inspired...lazy...and have no idea of what to post. I wished i own a car, to go out for a spin when im feeling bored, like now. yawns, i'm so not looking forward to mondae...working life is so not fun..i miss being a student..rarr! My fan spoilt, for no reason and now my room is damn stuffy..and im so tempted to on the aircon....I want to go on holiday..please.....I tried pool for the very first time in my life last night..it feels weird intially..cos i think im the only one there who doesnt know how to play..It's quite interesting actually cos it requires skills and brain and i tink i was really lousy cos honey commented alot HAHA and i think my aiming everything was bad =( i will try harder next time!

I've been slacking at work since last friday. The reason? My boss went on a business trip to China so everyone is so relaxed and lazy.HAHA but of course i didn't laze around the whole day! I had to like read some documents, keying in info, editing some contracts and do technical drawings in microsoft word! that's like so weird la aha! Time passed quite fast actually and it's not stressful working there. I will secretly sms but there's no internet connection so i can't log on MSN!rarr!!

I hate the morning crowds in trains and buses..squeeze n squeeze...and sometimes u smell something gross that's like the worst! After work still gotta squeeze! and here i am now, in front of my laptop, blogging about work, singing along to my fav songs and now i will fall asleep by 12 and wake up at 7 the next morning.

Oh anyways my precious pair of Dior spectacles BROKE...i dropped it accidentally and the lens came off..not only that the frame BROKE too! =( i'm sad cos it's by far my fav specs and it looks great on me... now im gonna find a new love~~

So looking forward to great spore sale! i seriously need more clothes for work! I used up my 3 days pay on foot massage and haircut! I know i need to save up don't worry i know what i am doing..oops

I haven't been blogging, no idea why. Too busy..sometimes i feel lazy..sometimes i'm just not that inspired. Well it's MAY already and thank god i got a job..like finally right? *looks around* ahaha...Well i needed income and no harm trying out merchandising though that's not my area of specialization. I am in need of some work experience and after resting for months I seriously think it's time to start working. back on 12th jan. landed on budget terminal at 2:53pm

I've never ever felt so excited about coming back to sunny singapore. I was smiling to myself on the plane...getting ready to rush down and pick up my luggage and meet this friend whom i haven't seen in the longest time. I called ft, ber n pei to tell them I AM BACK!!!! met up with germs and gang at night just to chill out and talk about my "china"experience. anyways, let's talk about what happened before i left china...It was a hectic week. I had to finish all my work and of course shop for prezzies! It's seriously no fun trying to get presents for more than 20 people in just a few days.

I went to hongkong to settle some bank stuff and of course SHOPPING!!! I think i must be really crazy to go to shenzhen alone and then cross the border to hongkong. Everyone's been telling me how dangerous it is and I shouldn't go alone....anyways it's quite safe i even have the time to shop for mr.c fake LV namecard holder! I just love being in hongkong, especially during winter time. I get to wear thick coats, scarfs..i mean just dress the way u like!! whereas now in this damn hot spore, i'm in tees n shorts.

I supposed this week i'll be busy meeting up friends n family....and i shall post some pictures in my next post.goodbye and drink lots of water. the weather's killing me.

on our way to this restaurant "xiao fei yang" (little fat lamb), we passed by some shops selling x'mas trees...... and in the restaurant itself theres this huge x'mas tree that's decorated as if it's CHINESE NEW YEAR! wth....

my friends say i am actually 23 yrs old. -______- and the day after 17th i will be 24 ....
-__________________- well we had really AUTHENTIC chinese cuisine on my birthday!!! aha if you have a weak stomach please don't try the fried chicken with this CHILLI stuffing!!!

-26 Nov 07- stupid shenzhen trip

It was really a last minute thing to go to shenzhen because there's this fashion show at night and my boss only told me in the morning. We left at noon and it's a 2.5 hrs car ride. I feel so sick and giddy. shenzhen is...damn crowded. Plenty of cars and people. happening city. look at the traffic jam!!! it's everything-can-go-wrong day. we kept driving from places to places and plans are messed up. My boss flared up and we rushed for the fashion show without having dinner. I was pissed and we only got to eat at around 10pm. We drove back and only reached office at 1:30am !!! i didn't even have the energy to do anything, not even shower although i went online for a while HAHA.

-25th Nov 07- yummy!

SUNDAY brunch. PORRIDGE STEAMBOAT. 3 of us ate 1kg of PRAWNS....can die ah....but super nice...u dip all your food in the porridge. very tasty and yummy...typical chinese restaurant. After brunch, we went for a haircut! and ate kfc after that! power!

well it's only 6pm and it's SO DARK already!

hokay. I had to follow 2 other colleagues to some university in guangzhou to INTERVIEW people. like wth... and i can only speak english to them. my boss tells me to pretend i don't know how to speak or read chinese. RARRR...

there's ALOT of fresh graduates and they really surprised me with their ah-hem so-called Grade6 english. I mean they are okay in writing but orally..NO.

SO, i asked "tell me what you learnt...or gain from the course you took?" ahh i had to ask this in order to know what they major in ahaha. shit. And they put so much info in their resume including their health condition, height, weight.....

WOO HOO i'm in hongkong NOW...how cool is that!!! while i'm busy msn-ing, my dear friend niki is still doing her pattern drafting. god she looks so stressed. Well, i suppose this hk trip is a good way to end my week. I did some shopping the moment i arrived at the China Ferry Terminal. only had rmb800 with me which IS NOT ENOUGH so i had to use the very precious plastic card HAHA. swap and sign! It's the first time that i walked around hongkong all by myself...it feels great...i saw alot of singaporeans....hear alot of singlish....i feel so at home....sigh. alot of LENG ZAI!!!! seriously hk people are really good at dressing and styling. especially it's winter...you get to wear nice coats.....oh well that's what i need to buy tomorrow...aha shit. my colleague wants me to buy BIRD NEST for her....-______-. ok i'm sleepy now... tomorrow will be really busy...bank,temple,shopping..eat...shop....shop...SHOP SHOP...eat..............shop.....shop.

-----As i was entering the lift, i saw mister xiao.wang, standing there with his luggage. I thought to myself, where the hell is he going?

xiao.wang: 'hey morning'

me: 'hi!'

-----He continued talking to the security guard (the not-so-friendly-botak) about Shanghai....

xiao.wang: 'going to work huh?' (he gave a really happy smile)

me: 'yeap, are you going on a holiday?'

xiao.wang: 'nope, i'm leaving. not working anymore'

-----The lift opened. level 1. i looked at him for a few seconds.

me: 'huh...ok....so....(i really didn't know what to say)'

-----He turned back, waved at me and said goodbye. I looked at him and mumbled 'bye...' As he walks off, I just stared at him....i was too shocked to say anything. I went up to the office, sat there and stoned for a while. After a few minutes, i ran down to level 1 but he has already left. I asked the security guard if there is any way i could reach mister xiao.wang but the not-so-friendly-botak said NO. fine. prakcibai. i walked really slowly back to the office and I had the sudden urge to cry. BUT i had to control. Why didn't i say something nicer to him? i only mumbled BYE. i felt so stupid. really. And it's like SO sudden. I never felt this way before. He's like one of the first friends that i made. I will miss him smiling at me during dinner, climbing the stairs in the dark and forever asking me 'why never go out and play?' HEY my friend just left like that. gone forever. i didn't even asked where he's going!!! i just didn't know how to bid farewell in mandarin i guessed. He must have thought that i was really rude or just didn't care about him. I didn't even have his number. i.........i........

-----Well, germs said that god wants me to say bye to him for the last time. so...yah....i mean if i wasn't stuck in shenzhen the night before, i will be able to say a nicer GOODBYE ahaha. but seriously, today was really sad. Seeing him leave really made me homesick. I don't know why. Nobody will truly understand how i feel. being alone in china...and it's difficult to make friends (well that's the case for me). Over here, people just come and go. Am i being too emotional? i mean don't they feel sad that their colleague is leaving...

-----I think if you don't speak cantonese, people don't really talk to you. HEY i'm from singapore. English is my first language although i must admit mine is probably more of Singlish than english hahah. And, to the fakers here, if you find it hard smiling at me, I'd rather you don't. Your praking face irritates me seriously. I'm a designer, so it's my praking problem if i wear short skirt and sandals in this 15 degree weather OKAY!

-sunday morning - 9:30am-freezing, very cold!!!-

On our way to the bus station(catching a bus to Foshan), we passed by some houses and i took some pictures.

The people here grow their own vegetables! Look at the heap of rubbish. China can be as clean as Singapore if you guys stop littering!!!

OKAY we didn't go to the bus station. Instead we stood by the roadside, waiting for the bus heading to Foshan. It was COLD and WINDY. And this truck full of pigs drove past us really fast. The smell was unbearable. we almost puked. I managed to capture an image of ...the pigs.

it's about an hour ride to Foshan. The bus stinks because the people here don't shower in the morning! We passed by this town Shunde. It's full of buildings selling furniture. My china friend said it's the "furniture City". interesting. so people shop and eat furniture? because i seriously don't see anywhere selling food, clothes or anything elses!!

We were kinda lost and we had to walk quite a distance to our destination. SO my friend suggested riding on this weird vehicle. I had no idea what to call it. It's only RMB5 which equals to SGD1 !!!! It was a slow and bumpy ride. When i took a photo of the driver he tried to make friends with us. "hey pretty girl!!! come here!!!! hey hey!!! mei nu!!! leng lou!!!"

OK this Baihua Plaza is the tallest building in Foshan. oops i didn't take the full view of it. haha. We had KFC for lunch!!! it's very nice...and funny KFC sells egg tarts but it's SUPER DUPER NICE!!!! portugese egg tarts...yummy...

..........I seriously can't believe that i've been in China for 3 weeks already! Adapting well..blending into the culture and lifestyle. Sometimes i really miss home,especially during the first week. No friends, no internet connection, no fridge. It's mainly smses and phone calls. Sometimes it's freaking cold, sometimes it's not. Kinda sick and tired of having RICE for lunch and dinner but thankfully I've made some friends and we went for dinner together!!! It's amazing that everyone I know here comes from different towns and cities. Guangzhou, Shanxi, Foshan, Hangzhou, HongKong...you name it. And our mandarin are all different yet we managed to understand one another. Well i'm the only Singaporean here. Most of them treats me like an alien. I smiled to them but they just STARE at me from head to toe. DO i look so funny? I guessed it's probably I dress up too nicely. SO WHAT? CAN'T I LOOK PRETTY? DO I HAVE TO LOOK LIKE YOU BITCH! sorry i just gotta say this out cos i've been supressing my feelings!!!

..........It's really nice knowing 阿娟(ah juen) and 小燕(xiaoyan). We are planning a 1-day trip to Foshan this sunday!!! I need new clothes badly. I have been wearing the same thing every week and I'm too lazy to do my laundry. It's funny how we live in this hostel but we don't know each other. 小燕 also lives on the 6th floor and i didn't know!!! They asked me alot about Singapore and wondered why the hell i am doing in this small city. Well it's simple. I want to experience life outside Singapore since i've been living there for so long. My life is getting boring and I needed something NEW. Sometimes in life, you don't know what you want so just gotta try things out, meet new people...instead of being in your own comfort zone. It's not easy living alone...abroad...especially in China. If you can't speak proper mandarin, please don't even think of working here. I'm already used to reading and typing in mandarin. Now all my smses to my colleagues are in CHINESE CHARACTERS. power huh!!

............A colleague of mine was talking to me about 'FAIRNESS' the other day and it just triggers my thoughts. Nothing is fair in this world please! And i don't see any fairness when you're working in china. If life is fair, then why do you guys have to eat elsewhere while the rest of us gets to dine in the so-called 'restaurant-style' canteen. AND why didn't you speak up when I told you i needed a fridge badly??? And for goodness sake, the time in your computer is INACCURATE! IT'S 10 mins faster!!! PLS CHANGE IT. ............mr xiao.wang smiled to me at dinner today. I don't know why it feels good to see familiar faces. At least i'm not alone. lunch and dinner are probably the worst. I sit with a table of well...strangers. Nobody talks. they just eat...really LOUDLY...and I can't stand this bald man. I happen to sit beside him a few times and he just eat..and BURP...eat and BURP and it's SUPER LOUD ok!!! I can feel the air ....coming towards me. A few times i almost puked. I really want to say the 'F'word to him sometimes. But i must remember that i'm alone in china and I gotta be careful and mind what i say...

............I have tons of work to clear....and i dont think i will ever finish it...it's never ending..before i finish a task another one comes. Today, i was asked by my colleague to translate this english poster that i did into chinese. what the hell!!!! Again, i wanted to say the 'F'word. I wonder how to say the 'F' in chinese. When my boss came in, i asked her if it's necessary to do the poster in chinese version and she told me not to do it because i won't be able to do the translation. Immediately, she called my colleague and went hysterical.

............"AIYA how can u ask felicia to do the chinese version!!! NONO!! She cannot do it!!! You do it yourself!!"

............Well i tried translating it and i copied some from the magazine. I almost went mad typing the chinese characters. I mean i had to tell my boss because i don't think it's my job doing the chinese version. And my colleague say "why you tell her!!! we should have done it ourselves!!!"

OURSELVES? YOU told me to DO IT ok!! I am not being bitchy here but I just have to shout out my dissatisfaction here. It's unhealthy keeping everything to myself. I don't hate or dislike anyone here. It's just mainly linking to work. Don't blame me. I'm just a SG CITY GIRL!!! =)

NO Discrimination Just A Little Dissatisfaction Part 1

1. most of the workers in the dyeing department doesn't have manners at all . it's CHIONG AH!!! when they sees food. they scoop a mountain of rice, lots of vege and MEAT..yes!!!...i ever saw this guy fill his WHOLE plate with pig trotters. OMG damn scary! and pls do not be amazed at how much they can eat!

2. expect to greet each other with 早晨!(pronounced as 'dzou san' in cantonese), especially important when u see people that you know.

3. There's no need to dress up here.

4. I'm not sure if it's the china culture not to shower in the morning. Or probably it's the winter and they DON'T SHOWER AT ALL. I mean it's obvious if a person never showers. I mean lucky i can't smell it but it's just that their hair!!! they don't even like comb or at least put abit of water on it so that your hair doesn't stands up!!! yesterday i saw this guy..his hair..FLY TO ONE SIDE...another guy...hair on top standing and he didn't even realize it.....

5. There's a few YAO MING in this company. super duper TALL freaks !!!

6. still getting used to the language here, the weather, the food and the town!!! trying very hard to adapt!! hey at least i understand cantonese but i can't speak!!! my mandarin has that 'slang' now!! woo hoo!!! next post will be all in chinese characters. oh yes i had to use Photoshop with the chinese text settings. it sucks..

7. I had this colleague, Ah Han...for a few times he keep addressing me as "EXCUSE ME" which is like...so hostile la....but just now suddenly he was calling someone "Ah Yi". I looked around and see who is ah yi...and then suddenly he looked at me. OH OK SO NOW I AM AH YI!!! Apparently, that's their way of addressing each other. ok i don't care if you call me Ah-Yi or Ah-Jing. as long as it's not "EH" or "Excuse Me" i'm fine with it! really!

8. I have been living without a refrigerator for more than 2 weeks. i'm not a caveman or refugee ok so give me the damn fridge!!!

9. I may look anti-social but i'm actually very friendly and crazy!

10. Even though i'm fair and I have rosy cheeks, do NOT assume that i'm from Northern China.

11. The building gets really quiet after work. Everyone just go back to their hostel and rest. If you hear a loud BOOM do not be alarmed. It's just the doors. I will be very surprised if I don't hear any BOOM BOOM BOOM sounds at night.

12. Little things that went wrong can easily frustrate me. I told them to fix my bathroom door because intially the door knob is gone and there's a huge hole. Guess wad they did now? they covered the hole with metal planks but without inserting the knob.SO HOW THE HELL AM I GOING TO CLOSE THE DOOR??? Then there's the water heater. The water is not HOT enough!

13. Ok i made a new friend on the first few days when i was here. Mr. Xiao Wang. HAHA. I had some problem fixing the water heater and my sudden instinct tells me to go out and look for help. Luckily he was just outside. I only see him around during dinner. Not much talking. Everyone just EAT. Sometimes we will walk up to the hostel together. He's always smiling to himself when he talks to me. Is this part of their culture too? haha

14. the dress sense here is seriously horrendous. I went to town and saw the clothes. Oh God. I'm going shopping in hongkong definitely!

15. I have been wondering if I should go to the hair salon here. I saw my colleagues hairstyle...and....it's..still the inside-curl-outside-straight, inside-straight-outside-curl or front-straight-back-curl TREND! i should think thrice

16. I think i'm slowly blending into the lifestyle here. I have been using toothpicks after every meal!!! It's a must because the meat are so tough here!

17. The big bosses 大老板 here talks really loud. Their meeting discussions sounds like an argument!!!

Style magazine, november07 issue did a photoshoot for the finalists of the FRESH! Graduate Showcase contest. Where's mine? the male model standing on the right. The styling is a bit different but it's really nice.

so here it goes....!

leaving Singapore....i just love looking at the sky when im on the plane

hi it's me. the flight's making me really giddy! never going to take budget flight again!!! the seat is uncomfortable,space too small!!
can't breathe! can't sleep!

YAY! after 4 hrs of flight, we're finally gonna land on Guangzhou Baiyun Airport!

the Driver from the company came to fetch us from the airport. I got really sick in the car and kept sneezing non-stop. The air is bad!! But i still managed to capture an image of the highway. And yes, i edited the colour.

that evening, me and my parents went to town.culture shock again!!! the traffic is horrible. we can never get to cross the road! so we stood there for really long and wait....and wait...and RUN ACROSS!! basically, the zebra crossing there is totally useless...the vehicles don't give a damn about us, the pedestrains.when it's our turn to cross, we have to give way to them!! what the hell!!! they just keep driving and even though they know you're in front of them, they won't stop for u..they just KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!!!!

I moved into the company's staff hostel on Saturday night. I may seem alright but deep down inside i'm actually quite afraid. I have never tried living alone in a foreign country. My parents helped me clean the room, unpack my stuff and soon they went back to the hotel. They had to fly back to Singapore early next morning. It was a bitter farewell but I stayed strong. I smsed my friends to get rid of the loneliness. Watched some tv and went to bed...

Woke up quite late the next morning and saw my mom's sms. didn't feel like doing anything so i took pictures of my room.

I decorated my wall!!! look like my wall back in lasalle.haha.i lurve the pic on the right!!!

oh god i gotta type really fast cos i'm currently using the office computer to go online and i can't stay long. It's been days without any internet connection and it sucks. It's getting cold here and my skin already started peeling. So far, i only know a few people cos' i haven't start work yet. Going to town later to get some thick clothing which i really need. all i have here are teeshirts. there's some interesting things going on here so please stay tune for moi stories!!!! If im gonna stay here for long i'll have to learn to love china, appreciate everything here, blend into their lifestyle and their language. No more english! Let's all speak mandarin! Next time i shall post my blog all in chinese..i'll see how you guys read it HAHA. For now, goodbye and i hope i'll be online really really soon. CIAO

feeling: sad, lonely and tired

finally, the time has come. I felt sick the whole day i think it's because i'm feeling nervous and excited. In 4 hours time, i'll be checking in at the airport, on my way to Guangzhou. It's nice meeting this really special friend before i leave. You know who you are... this shall be a really quick post cos' i'm really tired and i really need to sleep...so goodbye all...will be back real soon with nice stories while im in china!!!
